Small business owners and entrepreneurs need to be connected, but most of them prefer to keep their personal cell phone numbers private. According to a new survey released yesterday, April 10 by virtual phone number service eVoice, 75 percent of small business owners and entrepreneurs won’t share their personal mobile phone number with staff.
The survey also found that 19 percent of small business owners won’t share their personal mobile phone number with partners or investors, and 18 percent keep their personal mobile phone number a secret from vendors.
However, staff, partners, investors and vendors can still reach these small business owners and entrepreneurs, as the survey also found that more than one in three small business owners (36 percent) use three or more mobile devices to run their business. A good chunk of them prefer doing business on the iPhone, iPad or iPad mini (40 percent), and 58 percent text for business at least once a month. But only 33 percent still listen to voicemails from business contacts, and only 18 percent will listen to a voicemail message from an unknown number.
